Gladys Knight may be one of the top soul singers of all time, but her tango on Rock Week at Dancing with the Stars only received 20 points from the judges, landing her at the bottom of the pack Monday night.

Did her performance with partner Tristan MacManus send them both packing? Or did Gavin DeGraw and partner Karina Smirnoff – who improved this week, but have been regulars in the bottom two so far this season – get the boot? Or did a favorite who happened to have an off night end up going home instead?

Keep reading to find out the results …

Surprise! Both the singers were safe on Tuesday. Instead, in the season’s most shocking results night so far, two favorite couples were in the bottom: Sherri Shepherd and Chmerkovskiy, and Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower.

“All of us judges are in total shock,” head judge Len Goodman said of the turn of events. “This is beyond … The standard is so high, anyone can be in jeopardy, anyone can be safe.”

In the end, Sherri and Val were eliminated.

“I just want to say thank you for letting me live a dream I’ve always had,” the talk show host said with tears in her eyes. “I had the most amazing partner, Val Chmerkovskiy. That thing that scares you the most … run towards it because it’s so amazing on the other side … I had the most amazing time.”

Roshon and Chelsie will be back next week to compete against the other remaining couples.

Mad Men: PEOPLE's 4-Star Review

Mad Men cast

Off the air since October 2010, the retro-1960s hit launches season 5 with a two-hour premiere that radiates fresh, intriguing fissures through Don Draper’s icy gravitas. Will these grow into bigger cracks?

Ad genius Don (Jon Hamm) is turning 40, and although you might have guessed that he’s been middle-aged since 12, it appears unlikely he’s going to mellow out no matter how groovy the times get. He reacts to a surprise birthday party with barely concealed disgust, like a shark offered a choice of cake, chocolate or white.

Former secretary Megan, who accepted his marriage proposal at the end of season 4, is the one hosting the party – and beginning to sense the tactile muck at the bottom of Don’s character. As chic yet brittle Megan, Jessica Paré is a terrific addition: Flashing an imperfect but gorgeous smile, flirting with Don by singing a French pop song, she seems to have been stolen from a New Wave movie.

The show still tends to go suddenly flat – it’s hard to tell whether the party is supposed to be dead or its just incompetently staged – but Hamm is always superb as Don. An unlikely fusion of the central characters from Death of a Salesman and The Great Gatsby, he’s one of the great icons of modern television.

The new season premieres on AMC Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT

The Voice judges are halfway to finalizing their 12-person teams, and tonight the blind auditions continued.

More talented singers were scooped up this week, leaving just a few slots on Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Cee Lo‘s squads, as performers brought it in performances that ranged from renditions of everyone from Queen to Bruno Mars.

So, what went down?

Blake added street performer Naia Kate after she did Mars’ “The Lazy Song,” ALyX, who belted out “Just Like A Pill,” country singer Jordan Rager and the kooky Charlotte Sometimes on his team. Charlotte revealed she recovered from a jaw disease, which caused her to not be able to sing for a while.

Meanwhile, Christina snapped up “Mr. Know it All”-belting Monique Benabou, “What’s Going On” crooning Anthony Evans, “Shark in the Water” singing Ashley De La Rosa and Jonathas, who Cee-Lo said he mistook for Usher when he sang “U Got it Bad” (and threw in some dance moves while he was at it).

Adam added three peeps to his team, going with country music piano singer, Nicolle Galyon, another country artist named Karla Davis and 18-year-old Mathai, who brought down the house with Adele‘s “Rumor Has It.”

And on Cee-Lo’s team: Broadway vet Tony Vincent was added to the mix, along with “Babylon” singing Justin Hopkins (a former member of host Carson Daly’s house band) and sandwich-making, “Folsom Prison Blues”-crooning Jamie Lono.

“We should hook up, because I eat sandwiches,” Cee Lo told the Potbelly sandwich shop employee.

With tonight’s picks, Adam has two more slots left, Cee Lo has three, Blake has two and Christina has two as well.

(The Voice and E! are a part of the NBCUniversal family).
